Associação dos Cegos e Amblíopes de Portugal(ACAPO)
ACAPO is Portugal's national association for blind and partially sighted people, founded in 1989 from the merger of three pre-existing associations. It delivers rehabilitation, Braille literacy, orientation and mobility training, and employment support through twelve delegations and ten Social Rehabilitation Centres across the country.
About
ACAPO (Associação dos Cegos e Amblíopes de Portugal) was established in 1989, bringing together three regional associations of blind people into a single national body. Recognised by the World Blind Union, it has twelve delegations across continental Portugal and the Azores, and holds the Quality Management certification EQUASS Assurance.
What They Do
ACAPO provides rehabilitation services, Braille literacy education, orientation and mobility training, employment coaching, and independent living support. It advocates for accessible technology standards and accessible public environments, and has developed an innovative scheme for certifying the accessibility of bank cards and official documents for blind users.

Blind and partially sighted people of all ages across Portugal, including residents of the Azores, and their families.
