Liberia Christian Association of the Blind(CAB)
Incorporated by an Act of the Liberian National Legislature in 1993, CAB is the country's principal organisation for blind and partially sighted persons, operating a National Resource Center in Monrovia and six regional branches across Liberia. Its programmes span education, rehabilitation, computer skills training, and economic empowerment through a financial grant programme.
About
The Liberia Christian Association of the Blind (CAB) was founded on 28 April 1985 in Monrovia and formally incorporated by the Government of Liberia in May 1993. A member of the World Blind Union, CAB operates the CAB National Resource Center for the Blind in Monrovia and maintains six branches across six of Liberia's fifteen counties.
What They Do
CAB provides education, rehabilitation, vocational skills training, and basic social services for blind and partially sighted Liberians. A modern computer lab at the Resource Center delivers ICT education and employment development for blind users. The organisation also runs an agricultural programme for food security and income generation, and administers a financial social grant programme that in 2022 benefited 200 blind and partially sighted persons across the country.
