Mexican Confederation of Organisations in Favour of Persons with Intellectual Disability(CONFE)
CONFE is Mexico's national umbrella confederation for intellectual disability, affiliating over 114 independent organisations. It operates a National Training Centre offering early intervention and adult employment inclusion programmes, and represents Inclusion International at national level. Its federated model delivers services locally while providing national policy advocacy.
About
CONFE (Confederación Mexicana de Organizaciones en favor de la Persona con Discapacidad Intelectual) is a non-profit civil association that affiliates more than 114 organisations across Mexico working to defend the rights of people with intellectual disabilities. It is affiliated with COAMEX (the national DPO coalition) and serves as the national representative of Inclusion International.
What They Do
CONFE's National Training Centre offers early intervention and multisensory stimulation for babies from 45 days old to age 6, and vocational training and employment inclusion programmes for adults aged 15 to 35. The confederation sensitises wider society and engages in public policy advocacy jointly with member organisations and government agencies.
Who They Serve
CONFE serves people with intellectual disabilities and their families across Mexico, from infancy through adulthood. Its federated model means that services are delivered locally through more than 100 independent member organisations, with CONFE providing the national policy and advocacy backbone.
