DHR — Förbundet för ett samhälle utan rörelsehinder(DHR)

DHR is the Swedish national disability rights federation for people with mobility and physical impairments, working since 1923 toward a society where physical barriers no longer limit participation. With around 10,000 members across 190 local chapters, it advocates for accessibility, equal rights, and UN CRPD compliance.

Founded in 1923 and known today as DHR — Delaktighet Handlingskraft Rörelsefrihet — this organisation is one of Sweden's oldest disability rights bodies, representing people with mobility and physical impairments across 21 districts and approximately 190 local chapters.

What They Do

DHR campaigns for accessible built environments, conducts rights-based policy advocacy, and works with government to strengthen Swedish disability law and UN CRPD compliance. It provides peer support networks and produces advocacy materials for its members.
