Hungarian Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability(ÉFOÉSZ)
ÉFOÉSZ is the national umbrella organisation in Hungary for people with intellectual disabilities, representing 50 member associations, 25 local branches, and 22,000 individual members. Active for over 40 years, it provides advocacy, community care services, and cultural programming to promote rights and inclusion.
About
ÉFOESZ (Értelmi Fogyatékossággal Élők és Segítőik Országos Szervezete) was established over 40 years ago and is headquartered in Budapest. It is a member of Inclusion Europe and has been a key force in advocating for de-institutionalisation and community-based living in Hungary.
What They Do
ÉFOESZ runs nine community-based care settings, provides legal aid and family support services, publishes information in Easy-Read format, and organises national conferences and cultural festivals for people with intellectual disabilities.

ÉFOESZ primarily serves people with intellectual disabilities of all ages and their families across Hungary, with a particular focus on enabling independent and community-based living.
