FENACERCI — Federação Nacional de Cooperativas de Solidariedade Social(FENACERCI)
Portugal's national federation of 52 social solidarity cooperatives, supporting around 25,000 people with intellectual disabilities and their families through education, employment, and community inclusion. Born from the 1975 cooperative movement, FENACERCI employs close to 6,000 professionals across the country.
About
FENACERECI emerged after Portugal's 1974-75 revolution as parent-founded cooperatives for children with intellectual disabilities; it now federates 52 CERCI cooperatives nationwide. With close to 6,000 employees serving roughly 25,000 people, it is one of Portugal's largest disability service networks.
What They Do
FENACERECI supports member cooperatives in delivering education, rehabilitation, vocational training, residential care, and community inclusion services. At the national level it advocates for improved resourcing, policy reform, and the rights of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

People with intellectual disabilities of all ages and their families across Portugal, through a nationwide network of CERCI cooperatives founded and sustained by parents, professionals, and community members.
