About

The Fiji Disabled Peoples Federation (FDPF) began as the Fiji Paraplegic Committee in the late 1970s, became the Fiji Disabled Peoples Association in 1984, and adopted its current name in 2012. It is a founding member of the Pacific Disability Forum and a pioneer of disability rights advocacy in the Pacific.

What They Do

FDPF runs advocacy and training programmes, provides peer support through 15 community branches, and links members to national services. It operates through four affiliate associations — the Fiji Association of the Deaf, the Psychiatric Survivors Association, the Spinal Injury Association, and United Blind Persons of Fiji.

Who They Serve

FDPF serves all persons with disabilities in Fiji, including people who are Deaf, blind, have physical impairments, or live with psychosocial disabilities, ensuring each group has representation at the national level.
