About

The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (HKSR) was established in 1959, making it one of Hong Kong's oldest and most influential disability and rehabilitation organisations. Headquartered at the HKSR Lam Tin Complex in Kowloon, HKSR has been at the forefront of shaping Hong Kong's rehabilitation landscape for over six decades, operating across accessible transport, rehabilitation services, long-term care, assistive technology, and community inclusion.

What They Do

HKSR operates the RehabAid Centre, one of Asia's leading assistive technology assessment and provision centres, offering seating, communication devices, environmental controls, and specialised equipment. The society runs Rehabus (accessible transportation), independent living support, day rehabilitation centres, and residential care. HKSR also delivers research and professional development programmes, and advocates with government on accessible design, disability policy, and the rights of persons with disabilities in Hong Kong.

Who They Serve

HKSR serves persons with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, visual and hearing impairments, intellectual disabilities, and chronic health conditions across all age groups in Hong Kong. Its accessible transport services cover those unable to use public transit, and its RehabAid Centre serves clients with complex assistive technology needs. Caregivers and rehabilitation professionals also benefit from HKSR's training and resource programmes.
