Northeast Passage(NEP)
University of New Hampshire programme delivering adaptive sports, recreational therapy, and outdoor recreation for people with disabilities and veterans across New England.
About
Northeast Passage is a programme of the University of New Hampshire's College of Health and Human Services that has been serving people with disabilities for more than 25 years. Based in Durham, NEP is nationally recognised for its integrated model combining therapeutic recreation with competitive adaptive sports.
What They Do
NEP offers recreational therapy delivered by licensed therapeutic recreation specialists (CTRS) to support health, functional skill development, and quality of life. The programme also operates adaptive sports across 12 different sports — from skiing and cycling to hand-cycling and wheelchair basketball — serving everyone from first-timers to competitive athletes.
Who They Serve
Children, adults, and military veterans living in New England with physical disabilities (particularly spinal cord injuries), chronic health conditions, and other visible or invisible disabilities. Programming spans beginner skill-building to elite competitive pathways.
