Protection & Advocacy System, Inc. is Wyoming's federally mandated Protection and Advocacy organization, established in 1977 to protect the civil and human rights of people with disabilities. Operating from Cheyenne, PAS administers nine federal programs and provides free legal services, advocacy, and facility monitoring statewide.
About
Wyoming's Protection & Advocacy System, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation authorized by Congress to implement multiple federal disability rights laws. Since 1977, PAS has enforced the human and civil rights of Wyomingites with disabilities through administrative, legal, and other appropriate remedies, and holds federal authority to access facilities and records to investigate abuse and neglect.
What They Do
PAS administers nine federal programs including Protection and Advocacy for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, the Client Assistance Program, Assistive Technology, Traumatic Brain Injury, Voter Access, and Social Security beneficiaries. Services include free legal representation, individual and systems advocacy, facility monitoring, and community education on disability rights.

Wyomingites of all ages with any disability — including intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, brain injury, and physical and sensory disabilities — who need assistance securing state and federal services or defending their legal and civil rights.
