The Queen Alia Foundation for Hearing and Speech(QAF)
Jordan's specialist non-profit for hearing and speech disorders, established in 1978 in memory of the late Queen Alia of Jordan. The foundation provides audiology assessments, hearing aids, and speech-language therapy services in Amman.
About
The Queen Alia Foundation for Hearing and Speech was established in 1978 as a memorial institution honoring Her Majesty the late Queen Alia of Jordan. Chaired by HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, the foundation is one of Jordan's most enduring specialist disability organizations, dedicated exclusively to hearing loss and speech-language disorders across all age groups.
What They Do
The foundation operates audiology clinics equipped with the latest diagnostic technology, fitting patients of all ages with hearing aids and assistive listening devices. Speech and language pathologists provide individualized therapy for children and adults with communication disorders. Early intervention programs help families identify hearing loss in infants and initiate therapy before critical developmental windows close.
Who They Serve
QAF serves Jordanians of all ages — from newborns identified with hearing loss through neonatal screening, to adults experiencing age-related hearing decline. Particular emphasis is placed on children, for whom early audiological intervention dramatically improves language development and educational outcomes. The foundation also reaches underserved populations through outreach programs and subsidized services for low-income families across Jordan.
