Southern Nevada Centers for Independent Living(SNCIL)
A non-profit Centre for Independent Living established in 1995 providing peer counselling, advocacy, independent living skills training, and adaptive equipment assistance to people with severe disabilities in the Las Vegas metro area and rural Southern Nevada. SNCIL serves Clark County with satellite outreach to rural communities.
About
Southern Nevada Centers for Independent Living (SNCIL) was established in 1995 — evolving from a predecessor disability programme dating to 1984 — to serve people with disabilities in the greater Las Vegas region. The centre operates from its Las Vegas office with satellite outreach into rural Clark County communities that would otherwise lack disability support services.
What They Do
SNCIL provides peer counselling, independent living skills training, information and referral, self-advocacy support, ADA technical assistance for businesses and individuals, housing support, benefits counselling, and adaptive equipment loans. The centre helps individuals with disabilities navigate complex systems and achieve greater independence in daily life.
Who They Serve
People of all ages with permanent disabilities — physical, sensory, psychiatric, or chronic conditions — in Clark County and rural Southern Nevada who face barriers to independent living.
