About this resource

About

Adaptive Sports Connection (ASC) has empowered individuals with disabilities through outdoor and therapeutic recreation since 1992. The Powell, Ohio organisation operates winter programmes at Mad River Mountain and Snow Trails ski resorts, alongside a full calendar of warm-weather activities.

What It Does

ASC's snow sports programme offers stand-up and sit-down skiing and snowboarding for all ability levels—from first-timers to competitive racers—using four-track, three-track, mono-ski, bi-ski, and snowboard configurations. Additional year-round activities include adaptive water skiing, cycling, kayaking, and mountain biking, matched to each participant's capabilities using specialised adaptive equipment. Scholarship funds cover those who cannot pay.

Who It Helps

Children, adults, and military veterans with a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities. All veterans participate free of charge, and no individual is denied participation due to inability to pay.
