About
Founded in 2002 and based in Franconia, New Hampshire, Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country serves the northeast corner of Vermont and the far north of New Hampshire, a region historically underserved by adaptive sports providers. The mission of the organisation is to empower individuals with disabilities by building community, confidence, and skills through sport and outdoor adventure.
What It Does
Adaptive Sports Partners offers adaptive alpine skiing and snowboarding at Cannon Mountain, Burke Mountain, and Jay Peak, using a wide range of adaptive equipment: bi-skis, mono-skis, TetraSki systems for those with limited upper-body function, Snow Karts, tandem skis, snow sliders, and outriggers. Instructors are trained to work across physical, developmental, emotional, and behavioral disability profiles. Beyond skiing, the organisation also runs summer programmes in kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, and biking.
Who It Helps
The organisation serves athletes of all ages and all disability types including physical, developmental, emotional, and behavioral. TetraSki equipment enables participation for individuals with complex physical disabilities, including high-level spinal cord injuries, who may not be able to use other adaptive ski systems. No prior experience is required and financial assistance is available.
