About this resource

About

Art Spark Texas is an Austin-based nonprofit founded in 1998 that fosters cultural equity by creating an arts-inspired inclusive community for people with diverse abilities. Originally a VSA (Very Special Arts) state affiliate, Art Spark has grown into an independent statewide resource on inclusive arts practices, programming, and advocacy.

What It Does

Art Spark provides multidisciplinary arts education, performance opportunities, skill-building workshops, and informal creative gatherings for participants at any level across music, visual art, dance, theater, and writing. The organisation also offers training, consultation, and advocacy support for arts educators and venues seeking to build genuinely inclusive programs across Texas.

Who It Helps

People of all ages with any disability in Texas who want to engage in the creative arts, as well as arts educators, organisations, and venues seeking practical guidance on disability inclusion.
