About this resource

About

Can I Play That? (CIPT) is an American gaming journalism website founded in 2018 and run by disabled gamers, for disabled gamers. Unlike mainstream games media, CIPT focuses exclusively on accessibility — reviewing how well games accommodate players with visual, physical, cognitive, and other disabilities. The site received the 2020 Global Games Advocacy Award at the Women In Games Global Games Awards.

What It Does

CIPT publishes accessibility reviews, industry news, and "How I Play" features in which disabled gamers describe their own setups and strategies. Its Abletop series, launched in 2025, is a dedicated tabletop strand covering topics including rulebook learning curves, mobility and dexterity challenges, visual design in game components, cognitive load, and communication at the gaming table — formatted as discussions useful for both players and game designers.

Who It Helps

Can I Play That? serves disabled gamers across a wide spectrum of conditions — physical, visual, cognitive, and neurodivergent — as well as game designers and publishers seeking to understand how to make their products more inclusive.
