About this resource

About

Bee Visual has been creating picture-based supports since 2005, evolving from physical tools into the award-winning Choiceworks iOS app launched in 2012. The company earned a Gold Stevie Award for Best Mobile App that year and continues to expand the suite with a calendar companion app and a free Lite version for new users.

What It Does

Choiceworks provides four customisable board types — Schedule, Waiting, Feelings, and Feelings Scale — each pairing images with optional audio, timers, and animated cues. Caregivers choose from 180+ built-in picture cards or add personal photos, recordings, and video clips. Progress through a schedule is tracked by moving cards, providing clear visual confirmation of completed steps.

Who It Helps

Primarily designed for children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and intellectual or developmental disabilities. It is used daily by parents, special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists to support routine-building, transitions, and emotional self-regulation.
