Its service is funded through the FCC's Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) program, enabling qualifying users to receive caption phones and ongoing captioning service free of charge.
When a call is placed, ClearCaptions generates near-real-time captions of the other party's speech and displays them on a large-screen home phone or on the iOS/Android app. The service runs around the clock in English and Spanish and includes free installation for caption phone hardware and ongoing technical support for every user.
