About
Cogmed was developed at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and is backed by more than 120 peer-reviewed publications in journals including Nature Neuroscience. The programme is administered through licensed professionals — psychologists, occupational therapists, and special-education providers — who guide users through a structured five-to-eight-week course.
What It Does
Users complete 30–45-minute sessions of visually engaging memory exercises five days a week, with the difficulty level adjusting in real time to keep the brain training at its maximum capacity. Progress data is shared with the supervising coach, who provides weekly check-ins. The web-based platform runs on any modern browser.
Who It Helps
Children and adults with ADHD, learning disabilities, and the attention and memory effects of traumatic brain injury or stroke. Research has shown improvements in working memory, sustained attention, and academic performance across these populations.
