About this resource

About

CoughDrop is an open-source AAC app built around the idea that communication support should follow the user everywhere, on any device, without data loss. Boards and vocabulary sync instantly to the cloud and are available offline too.

What It Does

Users build or import symbol-based boards using the Open Board Format, enabling sharing between different AAC systems. Built-in data tracking generates detailed reports on language use and progress for the entire support team. Free supervisor accounts allow SLPs, teachers, and parents to model language and monitor communication. A lifetime one-time purchase option is available alongside monthly subscriptions.

Who It Helps

Individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Rett syndrome, and other complex communication needs — particularly families who use multiple devices or work with large, distributed support teams.
