About this resource

About

Founded to ensure that no disability prevents someone from experiencing winter sport, DSUK is the UK's leading adaptive snowsport organisation. Working in partnership with the British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI), DSUK has developed a formal adaptive instructor qualification and a network of centres at indoor snow slopes and highland ski areas across England, Scotland, and Wales.

What It Does

DSUK offers group lessons, private tuition, and club sessions in alpine skiing, snowboarding, and sit-skiing. Specialist adaptive equipment—including sit-skis, outriggers, and tethers—is available at partner venues. A centre finder on the website helps users locate their nearest facility with a DSUK-qualified instructor. DSUK also advocates for universal accessibility standards in snowsport venue design.

Who It Helps

DSUK serves people with physical disabilities, visual impairments, intellectual disabilities, autism, and any other condition requiring adaptive equipment or modified teaching methods. Programmes are open to children and adults at all experience levels, and no prior snow experience is necessary.
