About this resource

About

Founded in 1968, The Disabled Photographers' Society (DPS) is a UK registered charity run largely by disabled photographers that has been supporting accessible photography for over 55 years. It is one of the world's longest-running disability photography organisations and a trusted peer community for photographers with disabilities.

What It Does

The DPS lends adaptive photography equipment free of charge to its members, provides technical advice and peer support, hosts quarterly print and digital photography competitions, publishes the quarterly magazine In Focus, and organises exhibitions. The society's lending library of adaptive equipment lowers the cost barrier to accessible photography for members who cannot easily purchase specialist gear.

Who It Helps

The DPS serves photographers — and their carers — with any physical or sensory disability, anywhere in the UK and internationally. Membership is the gateway to equipment loans, magazine access, and competitions.
