About this resource

About

Gympanzees is a Bristol-based UK charity with a vision of creating a world of fun and fitness for the estimated one million disabled children and young people in the UK. While constructing the country's first fully accessible, disability-specific leisure centre, Gympanzees offers a comprehensive free online resource hub developed by specialist physiotherapist Stephanie Wheen.

What It Does

The Gympanzees Online Resource Hub contains over 60 pages of disability-specific exercises, games, and activities organized by condition and need. Resources include seated and wheelchair-adapted exercise videos, core stability programmes, balance exercises, and adaptive sports ideas families can do at home. Content covers cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, various syndromes, and a dedicated wheelchair users section with beginner through advanced progressions.

Who It Helps

Disabled children and young people aged 0–25 and their families and carers. All online resources are free and available to anyone, while the future Gympanzees leisure centre will serve disabled young people, their non-disabled siblings, and families in an inclusive environment.
