About
Inclusive Clay was founded to open the doors of community ceramic arts studios to adults with intellectual disabilities who are typically excluded from mainstream arts classes. Classes are held at established eastern Pennsylvania pottery studios — including ArtFusion and Historic Yellow Springs — integrating participants into regular studio culture rather than isolating them in separate settings.
What It Does
Runs three 8-week sessions per year (Winter, Spring, and Autumn) with up to twelve participants per class — six adults with intellectual disabilities each paired with a community support partner. Instruction covers hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and basic art history, with an emphasis on skill development alongside social and vocational growth.
Who It Helps
Adults with intellectual disabilities in eastern Pennsylvania who are seeking genuine community inclusion and hands-on creative skill-building through a traditional craft medium rather than a segregated day programme.
