About
Since 1996, Interact Center has been creating art and building community connections in Saint Paul's Midway and Creative Arts Zone. The centre serves more than 120 artists with disabilities across visual art and theatrical disciplines in a fully accessible building that includes studios, a gallery, a theatre, backstage areas, and a community room — all wheelchair accessible.
What It Does
Interact's Visual Arts studio supports 70+ artists working independently and collaboratively in painting, drawing, sculpture, clay, textiles, and other media, with all space and art supplies provided free of charge. Interact Theater produces original, fully staged theatre productions each year alongside community performances and school shows. Emerging artists also participate in informal works-in-progress designed for special events and industry conferences.
Who It Helps
Interact Center serves adult artists with physical, intellectual, developmental, and psychiatric disabilities, removing economic and mobility barriers that prevent participation in mainstream arts settings. By providing free, fully accessible space and materials, Interact enables artists to create and present professional-quality work.
