About
Kalogon was founded in 2019 and is based in Melbourne, Florida. The company developed the Orbiter and Orbiter Med cushions to address the high prevalence of pressure injuries among wheelchair users. The Orbiter Med received Medicare approval under HCPCS code E2609, making it reimbursable for eligible users through the VA and Medicare.
What It Does
Built-in sensors continuously monitor pressure distribution and automatically adjust individual air cells to orbit support away from at-risk tissue — no manual repositioning needed. A companion app (iOS and Android) lets users, caregivers, and clinicians review pressure maps, upload personalised comfort presets, and track skin-health data over time. Participants in Kalogon's Early Adopter Program reported being able to sit up to twice as long as with a standard inflatable cushion.
Who It Helps
Manual and power wheelchair users at risk of or recovering from pressure injuries — particularly people with spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, ALS, or any condition that limits independent repositioning ability.
