About
Developed by PRC-Saltillo in collaboration with the Center for AAC and Autism, LAMP Words for Life combines the Minspeak symbol language with the LAMP therapeutic approach. The method mirrors how typically developing children acquire language — through a reliable motor pattern, a consistent sound, and environmental feedback.
What It Does
Every word in the robust core vocabulary is always reached by the same motor sequence, enabling the development of muscle memory and automaticity. The vocabulary supports full sentence construction, verb forms, and word endings from the outset, so the communicator never needs to restructure their system as their language grows. Switch access and partner-assisted scanning are supported.
Who It Helps
Primarily emerging communicators with autism spectrum disorder. Also beneficial for individuals with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Angelman syndrome, and other developmental or motor speech disorders who benefit from a motor-based learning pathway.
