About this resource

About

MapHabit was developed to promote independence and reduce anxiety for people with IDD, autism, dementia, and acquired brain injury. Reimbursement is available through Medicaid waiver programmes in 15 US states, making it accessible without out-of-pocket cost for many families and service providers.

What It Does

Caregivers build or customise visual "maps" from a library of over 1,000 templates on a web portal; the user follows picture-and-text step prompts on their device. A shared Circle of Support connects family members, job coaches, and therapists in real time so everyone coordinates on the same routine system. Progress data is captured automatically to inform care planning.

Who It Helps

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or traumatic brain injury who benefit from structured visual routines and consistent prompting to build independence.
