About this resource

About

Meeple Like Us is a board game accessibility project founded by Dr. Michael Heron, a researcher in interaction design at Chalmers University of Technology. The site has produced in-depth accessibility analyses of hundreds of modern tabletop games and is widely regarded as the most comprehensive public resource for board game accessibility in the hobby.

What It Does

Each game receives a detailed Accessibility Teardown examining how visual, physical, cognitive, colour-blindness, communication, emotional, socioeconomic, and intersectional barriers affect playability. A companion Board Game Recommender lets users specify their accessibility requirements and receive matched recommendations drawn from the full review database. The site also publishes broader essays on the principles of accessible game design.

Who It Helps

Meeple Like Us is valuable for disabled gamers of all kinds — including those with visual, physical, and cognitive disabilities — as well as carers, therapists, educators, and game designers seeking guidance on inclusive tabletop design.
