About this resource

About

Mind Body Solutions was founded by Matthew Sanford, who became paraplegic at age 13 and later became a yoga teacher focused on helping people reconnect with their bodies after trauma, illness, or disability. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the organisation serves both a local studio community and a nationwide online following.

What It Does

Mind Body Solutions offers multiple free weekly online adaptive yoga classes, including seated adaptive yoga and seated yoga combined with meditation, led by trained instructors. Three dedicated classes each week are reserved specifically for veterans at no charge. The organisation also offers adaptive yoga teacher training for instructors seeking to work with disabled populations.

Who It Helps

People with physical disabilities, veterans with service-related injuries, survivors of trauma or serious illness, and yoga teachers seeking adaptive training. Every session is adapted so that all poses can be performed seated or with limited mobility, and beginners are actively welcomed.
