About this resource

About

MindMate was developed with input from neuroscientists and dementia care specialists to provide a holistic cognitive-wellness tool for older adults and their families. A single-case experimental design study published in a peer-reviewed journal found MindMate effective at supporting remembering of everyday tasks for people with dementia.

What It Does

The app offers cognitive brain games targeting memory, attention, problem-solving, and processing speed, alongside a daily activity planner, healthy-ageing articles, nutrition recipes, and multimedia content from the 1950s–1990s for reminiscence therapy. A linked family-carer mode lets relatives join activities remotely, monitor engagement, and share in the experience together — even at a distance.

Who It Helps

MindMate is intended for people living with mild-to-moderate dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or age-related cognitive decline, and for their family caregivers. The app is free to download on iOS and Android, with no subscription required.
