About
Moovit is one of the world's most widely used public transit apps, covering hundreds of cities globally and owned by Intel. Accessibility is a first-class feature: the app has partnered with Be My Eyes for blind-user support and has been recognised by Microsoft for its inclusive design practices.
What It Does
Wheelchair users can filter journey searches for step-free, accessible routes and see in real time which approaching vehicles are equipped with ramps or low floors. Full VoiceOver and TalkBack screen-reader support is built into every screen, and "Live Directions" delivers audio turn-by-turn guidance with automatic get-off alerts before the destination stop. Large tap targets, bottom-anchored navigation controls, and colour-blind-friendly displays round out the motor and visual accessibility features.
Who It Helps
Wheelchair and mobility-aid users navigating public transit, blind and low-vision commuters relying on screen readers, and people with motor disabilities who benefit from optimised touch targets and simplified navigation flows.
