About
Founded in 2009, Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports (OVAS) has grown into a leading adaptive snow sports provider in Utah, operating across four mountain and Nordic venues in the Ogden area. With more than 30 professional instructors and over 60 trained volunteers, OVAS delivers high-quality, personalised adaptive lessons to hundreds of participants each winter season.
What It Does
OVAS offers adaptive skiing and snowboarding at Snowbasin Resort, Powder Mountain, Nordic Valley, and Ogden Nordic from late December through early April. Each lesson costs $150 and includes all specialized adaptive equipment (bi-skis, mono-skis, ski bikes, sliders, outriggers), a lift ticket, and one-on-one expert instruction. Beginners through advanced skiers are welcomed, and instructors are trained to work with a wide range of physical and cognitive disability profiles.
Who It Helps
OVAS serves children and adults with physical disabilities including spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, and amputations, as well as individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and other challenges. The organisation also accommodates first-time adaptive skiers and experienced athletes looking to improve their technique.
