About this resource

About

Published by AssistiveWare — makers of Proloquo2Go — Pictello has been a trusted social story creation tool since 2011. Recommended by speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists, it is used in schools, clinics, and homes worldwide to support autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, selective mutism, and other conditions affecting social cognition.

What It Does

Users build multi-page visual stories by combining photos or video clips with captions and Acapela Neural Voice narration in over 35 languages and dialects. Two modes are available: a guided Wizard mode (with auditory instructions and speak-as-you-type for users with limited literacy) and a full Expert mode for detailed customisation. Finished stories are shareable directly with other Pictello users. A one-time purchase of $19.99 covers unlimited story creation with no ongoing subscription.

Who It Helps

Autistic children, young people, and adults; people with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, or selective mutism; and anyone who benefits from visual social scripts to anticipate new experiences or practise social interactions.
