About this resource

About

PRC-Saltillo was formed through the merger of Prentke Romich Company and Saltillo Corporation — two of the oldest and most established dedicated AAC manufacturers in the world. The company develops both hardware speech-generating devices and companion iOS apps, and provides clinical training, loaner devices, and a dedicated funding team.

What It Does

The Accent 800, 1000, and 1400 series are Windows-based devices available in three screen sizes. All three support touch and switch access; the larger models add head tracking and eye gaze. Devices run multiple vocabulary systems — including the iconic Minspeak symbol-based language, LAMP Words for Life, and text-based options — allowing personalisation from emergent to literate communicators.

Who It Helps

Individuals of all ages with autism, ALS, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Angelman syndrome, and other conditions that limit natural speech. Funding assistance is available for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance pathways in the United States.
