About this resource

About

Predictable is developed by UK-based Therapy Box and has won multiple assistive technology awards since its launch. It is one of the leading text-to-speech AAC apps and is designed for literate users who prefer typing over symbol-based communication.

What It Does

The app learns from usage to predict upcoming words and speed message composition. Over 6,000 symbols are auto-assigned to typed words for visual support. Users save favourite phrases, attach images and video, record message-banked audio, and translate messages into any of 43 languages. ElevenLabs AI integration adds highly realistic, customisable voices.

Who It Helps

Adults and older teenagers with ALS/MND, cerebral palsy, aphasia, laryngectomy, or other conditions that affect speech, who have sufficient literacy to use text-based communication. Multiple access methods include switch, head tracking, and eye gaze.
