About this resource

About

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is a leading US non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis and funding spinal cord injury research. Its National Paralysis Resource Center publishes free, medically reviewed content covering mobility technology, health management, and independent living, distributed to over 219,000 people since 2002.

What It Does

The personal exoskeletons page provides an objective comparison of commercially available wearable exoskeleton devices — including ReWalk, Ekso GT, and Indego — covering FDA clearance status, eligible injury levels and diagnoses, weight and operation requirements, Medicare and insurance coverage, and how to locate a certified training programme or active clinical trial. The Foundation's Paralysis Resource Center counsellors (1-800-539-7309) offer free one-on-one support for individuals navigating technology funding and access.

Who It Helps

Individuals living with spinal cord injury or paralysis from any cause who are researching wearable exoskeleton options, as well as family caregivers, physiatrists, and rehabilitation teams evaluating appropriate technology for their patients.
