About this resource

About

The Reeve Foundation's Staying Active resource centre is part of the Foundation's National Paralysis Resource Center, which provides trusted health and wellness information for people living with paralysis and their families. The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation was established following Christopher Reeve's 1995 spinal cord injury and has become a leading advocate and resource provider for the paralysis community.

What It Does

The Staying Active section offers free fact sheets and articles on fitness, aquatic therapy, nutrition, FES cycling, and locomotor training, alongside an exercise video series with guidance for every injury level. The companion 392-page Paralysis Resource Guide—available as a free download or print copy—covers physical activity and wellness in depth.

Who It Helps

This resource is designed for people living with spinal cord injuries, paralysis, and related physical disabilities, as well as their caregivers and healthcare providers, who need evidence-based guidance on maintaining fitness and long-term health.
