About

The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) was founded in 1979 and offers the nationally recognised Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) and Seating and Mobility Specialist (SMS) credentials. RESNA promotes research, standards development, and public policy in assistive technology across North America.

What It Does

RESNA's online directory allows people with disabilities to search for credentialed Assistive Technology Professionals and Seating and Mobility Specialists in their region. The site also publishes AT standards, recorded webinars, and clinical resources covering wheeled mobility, environmental control units, and smart home assistive technology.

Who It Helps

Anyone with a disability—especially those with complex mobility, seating, or smart home AT needs—who requires a qualified professional to conduct a thorough assessment and recommend appropriate devices.
