About this resource

About

John Sage founded Sage Traveling after discovering firsthand that hotels' self-reported accessibility information was frequently inaccurate and inadequate for wheelchair users. Having personally visited over 120 European cities in his wheelchair, he built a service based entirely on ground-truth verification rather than reliance on third-party claims or hotel marketing materials.

What It Does

Sage Traveling uses a five-tier accessibility rating system that accounts for different disability and mobility profiles — from power wheelchair users with limited hand function to travellers who can manage one or two steps. Services include custom accessible itineraries, personally inspected hotel bookings, private accessible van transportation across European cities, cruise accessibility guides, and a library of free destination-specific accessibility articles.

Who It Helps

Wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments planning travel in Europe who need first-hand, reliable accessibility information and personally vetted accommodation and transport — not generic accessibility claims from mainstream travel agencies.
