About this resource

About

Launched in 2011 by educational audiologist Karen Anderson, Supporting Success for Children with Hearing Loss began as a practical information hub for teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and has grown into a nationally recognized resource used by families and professionals across the United States. The site is grounded in evidence-based practice and a commitment to every child with hearing loss thriving academically and socially.

What It Does

The site provides free articles on classroom accommodations, FM system use, hearing loop technology, IEP strategies, and listening skill development. Teacher Tools Takeout offers subscription-based curricula, therapy materials, and assessment tools. Parent Power Half Hours are free live webinars covering key topics for families navigating hearing loss in children.

Who It Helps

The primary audiences are parents and caregivers of deaf and hard-of-hearing children, teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ToDs), educational audiologists, and speech-language pathologists. Students from preschool through high school are the ultimate beneficiaries of the strategies shared.
