About this resource

About

Gus Communication Devices, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, has been building AAC solutions since the 1990s. TalkTablet PRO is their flagship app, engineered to deliver high-quality AAC on consumer tablets without requiring a dedicated speech-generating device, significantly lowering the cost barrier for families and schools.

What It Does

TalkTablet PRO provides 15 SLP-designed vocabulary sets ranging from 2 to 48 buttons per page, plus a library of 30,000+ SymbolStix symbols for building custom boards. Natural-sounding multi-language voices, unlimited pages, and free software updates are all included in the one-time $199.99 purchase price. Integration with Apple's Personal Voice feature (iOS 17+) allows users to create a voice model from their own recorded speech before a condition progresses. Two-way phone conversations via the app are also supported. Free telephone technical support is provided by Gus Communication Devices.

Who It Helps

Designed for people with autism, aphasia, Down syndrome, stroke, laryngectomy, cerebral palsy, apraxia, and traumatic brain injury. The affordable one-time pricing and compatibility across iOS, Android, Windows, and Kindle make it especially accessible for families and schools that cannot access insurance funding for a dedicated device.
