About this resource

About

The Disability Collective is a not-for-profit organisation and community of disabled artists based in Toronto, Canada. It is the only fully disability-led multidisciplinary arts organisation in Toronto, committed to celebrating work created entirely by disabled artists across all disciplines and art forms.

What It Does

The Disability Collective produces live performances, virtual showcases, visual art exhibitions, readings, and an annual Disability Artisan Market. The ART IS MOVEMENT programme provides an artist residency and professional development pathway for disabled creators. A year-round virtual marketplace enables disabled artists to sell original work, prints, and made-to-order commissions — including knitted, crocheted, sewn, and 3D-printed pieces — directly to the public.

Who It Helps

The Disability Collective serves disabled artists of all disability types in Toronto and online, with a strong commitment to intersectional representation including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC disabled artists. Both emerging and established artists participate in programming and the online marketplace.
