About this resource

About

WheelPower is the United Kingdom's national wheelchair sport organisation, founded in 1948 and headquartered at the historic Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury. Building on its pandemic-era launch of virtual classes, WheelPower continues to offer free weekly online fitness sessions serving wheelchair users across the UK and internationally.

What It Does

WheelPower offers free weekly live online sessions including adaptive yoga led by Nina Boswell Brown (a paraplegic yoga instructor) and adaptive box-fit classes. A growing on-demand library of exercise videos covering upper-body strength, core work, and seated cardio is freely available, streamed via Zoom and archived to YouTube for flexible access.

Who It Helps

Wheelchair users and people with physical disabilities seeking structured, accessible fitness led by instructors with lived experience of disability. Particularly relevant for people in the UK, though the virtual format makes sessions open to anyone worldwide who wants free, peer-informed seated exercise.
