About

Founded in 1976 as the Arkansas Coalition for the Handicapped, the Arkansas Disability Coalition (ADC) is one of Arkansas's oldest disability organisations. ADC focuses on supporting families and individuals navigating chronic, complex medical issues and connecting them with educational, health, and community-based services. The organisation is headquartered in Bryant, AR.

What They Do

ADC operates the Family-2-Family Health Information Center (F2F HIC), which trains and employs family members of children with special health care needs to provide peer support to other families. ADC also runs the Leadership Gym programme to build self-advocacy skills and maintains a comprehensive Resource Directory for Arkansas families affected by disability. The organisation partners with Arkansas state agencies to improve access to disability services.

Who They Serve

ADC primarily serves Arkansas families with children who have chronic or complex health needs, as well as adults with disabilities seeking community resources. Services are provided by people with lived experience, making the organisation a trusted peer resource across the state.
