Caribbean Disability Network(CDN)
The Caribbean Disability Network is a regional civil society platform founded in 2024 to advance disability inclusion and rights across the Caribbean, fostering collaboration among disability advocates, governments, development partners, and the private sector. It organises the annual Caribbean Disability Conference and leads regional data and research initiatives.
About
The Caribbean Disability Network (CDN) was formed following the first Caribbean Disability Conference, held in Grenada in October 2024. It is a regional civil society platform dedicated to promoting the full inclusion and human rights of persons with disabilities throughout the Caribbean, demonstrating that persons with disabilities are capable contributors to national, regional, and international communities.
What They Do
CDN organises the Caribbean Disability Conference, fosters collaboration among local disability associations, NGOs, census bureaus, and ministries of social transformation, and leads a regional Disability Census Research Project. The network advocates around inclusive education, disaster preparedness, mental health, legislation, and human rights, and works to influence Caribbean-wide policy on disability inclusion.
Who They Serve
CDN serves persons with disabilities across all Caribbean island nations and territories, amplifying disabled-led voices at the regional level and connecting local organisations with regional and international frameworks.
