Organization
Caribbean Disability Network(CDN)
Formed at the inaugural Caribbean Disability Conference in Grenada in October 2024, the Caribbean Disability Network is a regional body fostering cross-country collaboration among disability advocates and organisations from across the English, French, Dutch, and Spanish-speaking Caribbean. CDN drives policy reform — including Belize's landmark Disability Act of December 2024 — and coordinates digital accessibility initiatives with support from the Caribbean Development Bank.
About
The Caribbean Disability Network (CDN) was formed following the first Caribbean Disability Conference, held in Grenada in October 2024 with over 200 participants from 12 countries. With a website launched in 2025, CDN is the emerging regional voice for disability rights and inclusion across the Caribbean, bringing together English, French, Dutch, and Spanish-speaking nations.
What They Do
CDN fosters cross-country collaboration on disability advocacy, policy development, and accessibility standards. It has already contributed to significant legislative change, including the passage of Belize's comprehensive Disability Act in December 2024. In partnership with the Caribbean Development Bank, CDN is implementing a Legacy Project in Barbados to train IT professionals in digital accessibility and establish an accessible technology hub at the Barbados Council for the Disabled.
Who They Serve
CDN serves the disability community across the Caribbean region — persons with all types of disabilities, Disabled Persons Organisations, advocates, and policymakers — in 12 or more countries spanning the breadth of the Caribbean.
