Romanian National Disability Council(CNDR)

CNDR (Consiliul Național al Dizabilității din România) is Romania's national federation of disability organisations, established in 2004 at the request of the European Commission as a condition of Romania's EU accession. It advocates for the rights and dignity of all people with disabilities in Romania in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

About

Consiliul Național al Dizabilității din România (CNDR), the Romanian National Disability Council, was established in 2004 in Bucharest as a non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian, and apolitical federation. Created at the European Commission's request as part of Romania's EU accession process, CNDR is a full member of the European Disability Forum (EDF).

What They Do

CNDR engages with Romanian public authorities to promote disability-inclusive policies, monitors implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and represents Romanian disability organisations at European level through the EDF. It advocates on legislation, social services, accessibility, and employment for people with disabilities.

CNDR serves the approximately 830,000 people with registered disabilities in Romania through its member organisations, advocating across all impairment types including physical, sensory, intellectual, and psychiatric conditions.
