Consejo Nacional para la Atención de las Personas con Discapacidad(CONADI)

CONADI is Guatemala's leading national body responsible for coordinating, advising, and promoting public policies on disability in compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It works alongside organisations of and for persons with disabilities across all regions of the country.

About

Constituted by Guatemalan law, CONADI (Consejo Nacional para la Atención de las Personas con Discapacidad) is the State's lead coordinating and advisory institution on all matters relating to disability. It is mandated to implement Guatemala's obligations under the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and acts as the focal point for disability policy across government ministries.

CONADI coordinates national disability policy, advises government entities, promotes inclusive legislation, and supports the capacity of civil-society organisations of persons with disabilities. It works to dismantle physical, communication, and attitudinal barriers across education, employment, transport, and public services.
