Utah's governor-designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency, established in 1978, advancing the legal rights, opportunities, and choices of Utahns with disabilities through legal advocacy, investigation, and public policy work. Services are available to any Utahn with a disability, regardless of location.

About

The Disability Law Center (DLC) is a private, non-profit organisation designated by the Governor as Utah's Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency. Established in 1978, DLC has spent nearly five decades enforcing and strengthening the laws that protect the rights of people with disabilities across Utah.

What They Do

DLC provides free information and referral, disability law education, investigation of abuse and neglect in residential facilities, mediation and negotiation, presentations and workshops, legal representation in administrative hearings and court proceedings, and self-advocacy training. The organisation focuses on ensuring people with disabilities are free from abuse and neglect, receive appropriate services, and are protected from discrimination.

Utahns with physical, cognitive, psychiatric, developmental, and sensory disabilities who face civil rights violations, abuse, neglect, or systemic barriers to services, housing, education, and community participation.
