Founded in 1977, Disability Rights Florida is the state's designated Protection and Advocacy system — a nonprofit organisation providing free and confidential legal advocacy and rights protection to Floridians with disabilities. DRF is one of the oldest P&A agencies in the national network.
What They Do
DRF operates eight specialised advocacy programmes, including PADD (Developmental Disabilities), PAIMI (Mental Illness), PAAT (Assistive Technology Access), and PAVA (Voting Accessibility). Services include legal representation, investigations of abuse and neglect, supported decision-making advocacy, financial exploitation response, and voter rights assistance.
